Shaving with an Electric Razor / Shaver
When we say that a man shaves with an electric razor, we always think that his shaving is easy, convenient and very efficient. Well, that is not always the case with electric razors. Sometimes, electric razors do not give us the perfect and close shave that we wanted. In fact, some men prefer traditional razors because, according to them, it gives them a closer and even shave than using the electric razor. Here are some tips and ways on how you can get the best shave out of your electric razor.
Keeping your electric razor clean every time is very important. This is to ensure that the electric razor will always be like new and give great shaving results. If you check your electric razor, you will find that it has a removable head so that you can clean the blades or the shaving head. Before cleaning your electric shaver, you should consult the manual to see if you can rinse the blades in running water or you will use the supplied brush.
The blades and the screen should be replaced regularly. The usual span for the blade and the razor head is one year. After that, the blade can become dull and the shaving heads will become thin. You should keep spare blades and razor heads always in your drawer.

To make it easier for your electric razor to shave your facial hairs, you can splash your face with warm water to open up the pores and soften the hair follicles. However, you have to make sure that your skin is dry before you shave. A little talcum powder can help speed up the drying of your skin.
Another tip that can help make it easier for your electric razor to shave is to use an alcohol based pre shave lotion. This helps the shaving process by removing the excess oil from your skin and forces the hair to stand up for easier shaving. If you do not want alcohol based lotion, there are pre shave lotion that is not alcohol based but it can also remove excess oils from the skin.
When shaving with your electric razor, you have to shave against the direction of the hair. Do not go over the same spot repeatedly or else you might get razor burns or skin irritation. You can pull your skin taut with your other hand while shaving to give a more effective shaving.
After shaving, use a moisturizer for your skin. Aftershaves have alcohol which causes the stinging sensation. It is better to use moisturizers if you do not want that stinging sensation.
It can take two to three weeks before you can perfect the use of your electric razor. If your skin is used to manual razors, it will take time to get used to the way an electric razor shaves the hair off.
